KPAD supports HIV+ children

Komisi Penanggulangan AIDS Daerah (KPAD) Gianyar has collaborated with Yayasan Bali Peduli to provide support to 10 HIV+ children from Gianyar. img1

At a ceremony held this morning (21 December 2015) to distribute the funds, eight children were provided with a contribution of Rp 250,000 (approximately $25USD) and two children were provided with a contribution of Rp 500,000 (approximately $50USD).

A ceremony to distribute the funds was held this morning (21 December 2015) and was attended by the secretary of KPAD Gianyar, representatives from the regional health office and the recipient families as well as the founder and staff of Yayasan Bali Peduli.

KPAD Gianyar expressed their support to people living with HIV and the need to eliminate stigma and discrimination. Dr Steve Wignall, founder of Yayasan Bali Peduli, added to this urging HIV positive people to take advantage of government supplied treatment in order to live happy and productive lives by practicing ART adherence.

Komisi Penanggulangan AIDS Daerah (KPAD) Gianyar bekerjasama dengan Yayasan Bali Peduli mengadakan img5program pemberian bantuan kepada 10 ODHA anak asal Gianyar dengan rincian 8 orang menerima sejumlah Rp 250.000, dan dua anak dengan jumlah bantuan Rp 500.000. Program ini bertujuan untuk membantu meningkatkan taraf hidup serta menghapus stigma dan diskriminasi bagi mereka.

Penyerahan bantuan ini dihadiri langsung oleh pendiri yayasan bali peduli, sekretaris KPAD Gianyar, dan perwakilan Dinkes Gianyar serta keluarga penerima bantuan. Dalam kesempatan ini, KPAD Gianyar juga menyampaikan dukungan kepada ODHA untuk tetap semangat dalam menjalani kehidupan. Dr. Steve Wignall sebagai pendiri yayasan juga menyampaikan bahwa, ODHA berkewajiban untuk bertanggung jawab terhadap kesehatannya dengan taat meminum ARV.
